A unique lodging experience in the heart of the UP's Big Snow Country.
We provide a clean, comfortable lodge modeled on European youth hostels. Most of the main level is a very large common room with fireplace, TV, piano, tables and ample seating. Balconies of an upper hall and two of the smaller sleeping rooms overlook the fireplace area. A fully equipped kitchen is available for our guests' usage. Sleeping accommodations are in five sleeping rooms, each with at least one double bed, and in two dorms. A total of seven bath rooms adequately serve a capacity group of 42. Off street parking is available for up to four vehicles with trailers, and additional parking is available within two blocks.
The Abbey is one-half block from a major snowmobile trail, 4 miles to either Powderhorn or Blackjack, 5 miles to Indianhead. Several Nordic trails pass through or near Bessemer.
